Quick Energy Fixes For Your Home Or Workplace

Ah mid wintertime…it’s this point of year when people start to lose motivation for their new year’s resolutions. You may feel a bit frustrated with yourself as your new goals seems to be unreachable. The coldness and darkness also means that we often huddle up at home and do a pseudo-hibernation of our own. When this happens it doesn’t take long before the energy in our home or workplace can start to feel…well...kinda blah. So here are some simple tips to help you keep your new year’s resolutions, and to feel good until spring comes…

Deal With Broken Stuff: It’s easy to forget about all the little odd fix-it jobs in your home but now is the time to address it. Is there a lamp that needs to be repaired? A piece of baseboard that has come loose? A spot on the wall that needs a paint touch up? Fix it! And if it can’t be fixed, then toss it. Leaving broken or damaged things laying around subconsciously eats at your sense of peace and well-being. Worse still, broken and damaged items, attract the energy of more broken and damaged energy to your space. Who wants that?!?! No one is my guess. So this weekend, instead of cozying up with yet another movie, make a list of what needs to be dealt with and start doing it. I promise you will feel much better.

DeClutter: No doubt you have heard about the sensational Marie Kondo and her magical art of tidying up. Her book, and now TV show are both hits, and with good reason. She teaches simple techniques to manage your stuff in ways that are easy to accomplish and practical. By getting rid of the stuff you don’t need and don’t love, you open up your energy to allow more good stuff to flow to you. Also, on a practical note, it also makes your day to day stuff easier as you don’t need to go searching to find missing things.

Open the Windows: This time of year it’s cold and yucky. For many people it’s dark when they leave for work, and dark when they come home again. So it doesn’t exactly inspire having a fresh breeze through the house when its -20. But your home needs the fresh air and sunlight to refresh the air and to draw in positive energy. I recommend opening up ALL the windows for at least 30 minutes once a week. And to open all blinds and curtains for a few hours every day. This will go a long way in helping to keep good energy flow in your home.

Energy Cleanse: As we in the beginning of a new year, this is the perfect time to cleanse the energy in your space, let go of the old and bring in the new! The easiest way is to use InSpirit Centre’ Protection Spray. It’s made by yours truly and includes 11 different therapeutic grade essential oils and herbs. It smells divine. But better still it clears all negativity out of a space and helps it to feel more inviting. Many clients use it nightly in their bedrooms to promote a good night’s sleep. Simply start at your front door, and then spritz a little along each wall, doorway and window. Plus it is safe on furniture and linens as well. I recommend doing this monthly but there is nothing wrong with doing it more frequently if you feel drawn to do so.

Plants and Flowers: Bringing in a new plant for fresh cut flowers to your space helps refresh the air, and the energy. They go a long way in helping us feel connected to nature and reduce our stress.
