Prioritizing Myself Card Spread

One of the newest ways Tarot & Oracle Cards are being used these days, is for self-improvement through creative thinking and inner reflection. One of the important things many of us have learned through the pandemic, is to stop leaving our own selves at the bottom of our priority list. But how to do you organize and prioritize yourself? This simple spread is designed to help walk you through that very process.

For myself, I believe that while some things are beyond our control, for the most part our decisions, actions and thoughts have a huge role in determining what type of life we have. By sorting our prioritizes it helps to give us a direction and focus as to how we spend our time.

For this spread, you have a lot of flexibility with what time of deck you use. For me, I like a deck that fully encompasses both the light and dark of life. I am a big fan of Tarot for this reason, but there are many excellent oracle decks out there that can do an excellent job of providing a balanced reading. However, as we are focusing on the positives for this spread, its totally fine to use one that is light only.

I also keep the card spread simple on purpose. By only pulling 1 card per category your messages will be more crisp and succinct. This is important, because the more cards you pull, the more likely they are to muddy the message.

Begin with focusing on yourself and your life as it is now. Now keep that focus in your mind as you shuffle the cards.

Next, I recommend cutting the deck into 3 parts. Then, put them back together in any order. This represents dividing out past, present and future. It creates order to the chaos of life.

The next step is to lay the cards, according to the spread. Now its time to read the cards according to their position. Take your time with this and notice what emotions arise within you. As best you can, be open to all possibilities. But the real truth will shine when you are able to let go of the ideas of how you want things to be, and be open to accepting what IS.

Be Aware Of Self-Critical Thoughts

You must keep in mind that the purpose of this spread if to help you focus your attention and actions. It is NOT to highlight everything you've been neglecting or failing at. I say this because there is a chance that some self-critical thoughts are going to pop into your head and could make you feel even worse about yourself. If that happens, take a few breaths and regroup. Be kind to yourself and remember, its about making a better life for yourself.

The Bottom Line...

No matter where you are in life, there is always room to improve and evolve. This is a fabulous spread to help you see your life from a different perspective. Its helps to expand your knowledge, creative problem solving, build confidence and so much more.
